As of April 200, Federal law requires contractors who disturb lead-based paint in homes, child care facilities
and schools, built before 1978 to be cetified and follow specific work practices to prevent lead contamination. If your contractor
is disturbing more than six square feet of painted interior surface or twenty square feet of painted exterior surface, they
must be certified by the Enviornmental Protection Agency for lead-based paint removal.
Ask your contractor for his personal certificate, along with the comany's certification.
